Custom Work

I like working one-on-one with customers to create meaningful pieces. Sometimes it starts with an old photo, a period drawing, or just an idea you’ve been carrying in your head. My job is to take that concept and turn it into a finished sword that feels true to the Civil War era.

How it works

The process usually begins with a quick conversation about what you have in mind. From there, I can give you a quote or, if the design needs more development.
Once we settle on a design you’re happy with, I may require small deposit of the total price upfront as a security deposit. The remaining balance (plus shipping) is due when the project is complete.

Timelines

Some custom projects can be finished fairly quickly, while others take more time—especially if I’m sourcing special parts or working out new methods. I’ll always do my best to give you a realistic estimate for delivery and keep you updated along the way.

About the blades

I focus on Civil War reproductions. In most cases, I source high-quality blades that match the look, feel, and function of period swords. I’ll often regrind, reshape, etch, or finish them so they meet the specific needs of your project. If you already have a blade you’d like mounted, I can usually work with that too.

I work with several skilled bladesmiths and trusted suppliers (Swordrep, Mongolianswords) who provide reliable steel. This allows me to concentrate on fittings, accuracy, and finishing details that bring the historical piece to life.
